For staff and faculty at Cal Poly, the portal (http://my.calpoly.edu) offers a channel to subscribe that will allow you to request firewall pinholes (exceptions in the firewall). The following guide will give a step by step on how to subscribe to the channel and submit a pinhole request.

1. Go to the portal (my.calpoly.edu) and log in.

2. Click the "Add Content" link near the top of the page.

3. Select "Technology" from the category and "Network Admin Firewall Pinhole Request" from the portlet box. Then click the "Add to my page" button.

4. The Network Admin Firewall Pinhole Request channel should now display in your portal under the technology tab. Find the channel and click the "Add A Pinhole" button.

5. You will now see a pinhole request form. Fill out the form with the computer name, IP Address, and the ports that you would like opened. And use the large text box to provide any additional instructions. When finished read the responsibilities that go along with requesting a pinhole. If you are done and agree with the policy, click the "Agree/Submit" button.
